Welcome to North American Proceedings in Gynecology & Obstetrics (NAPGO).

NAPGO publishes research that furthers the understanding of all patients’ health by providing open access to information in the field of gynecology and obstetrics.

Getting Started

This journal was founded to address the barriers to publication researchers in obstectrics and gynecology are facing. Under the current publishing system, there are such limited number of outlets available with which to publish, a significant number of high-quality papers and projects are rejected and lost every year. NAPGO intends to reverse that trend.

Changing the Publishing Course

Visibility and connectivity are top priorities for NAPGO. Not only does the journal publish quality work otherwise lost to obscurity, it promotes these works for all obstetric and gynecology physicians to see what is happening in the field. Similar to other journals of integrity, NAPGO holds itself to high publishing standards. Every article undergoes rigorous peer-review, is indexed on Google Scholar, and is assigned a referenceable DOI.

NAPGO is also pivoting back toward the original goal of open access journals: allowing all interested parties to read high-quality research with as few barriers as possible. As such, significant effort is put into promoting each publication - active social media presence, increasing website traffic, etc.

About Metrodora Publishing

NAPGO is published by Metrodora Publishing, LLC, a majority-woman owned business.

Metrodora was a physician in Greece in the 2nd century. She wrote the prolific gynecologic text On the Diseases and Cures of Women, which was still being cited in medical texts throughout Europe as late as the 16th century. Much like its namesake, Metrodora Publishing aims to advance obstetric and gynecologic research while offering open accessibility to our publications.
